About Stephanie Smith
After moving all over the country, I landed in the Mancos Valley in 2015. I discovered my creativity years ago, exploring with photography, collage, jewelry making, and painting. I'm a self-taught artist through years of trial and error and I am also a full-time social worker. I currently work with at-risk youth and I'm pursuing my clinical social work license. Due to the difficult nature of my work, I've leaned on my art for self-care and wellness.
My art is inspired by my connection with the natural world. I have personally experienced the healing power of nature as well as witnessed it in others (I used to work in wilderness therapy). Each piece I complete is filled with heart and soul, as well as the precious emotions and memories associated with my outdoor adventures.
